This video collage puts together the reel and the real, fact and fiction: combining together the persecution of the anti-establishment singer Charandas from the film “The Kingdom of Diamonds” (1980; Dir: Satyajit Ray) and the recent uproar regarding the Bhojpuri singer Neha Singh Rathore due to her straightforward anti-fascist stance in the context of the tyrannical power-politics of the BJP in contemporary India. This video attacks, by following the Constitution of India, the anti-democratic politics of censorship that autocrats around the world have followed since time immemorial, but with pretty limited success!
