DHFL: Return Gift by BJP to Piramal for Flashnet Scam

Posted on 13/09/2023 (GMT 17:30 hrs)

ONCE UPON A TIME it was found that paramavaisnava Mr. Ajay Piramal was accused for buying Piyush Goyal (Piyush Vedprakash Goyal is a politician and cabinet minister of the Government of India led by the Bharatiya Janata Party, having portfolios such as Minister of Textiles, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. He was elevated to the Cabinet Minister position on 3 September 2017.)’s company at 1000 times its face value!

Thus Dewan Housing Finance Corporation (DHFL) is the return gift to Piramal for buying BJP’s Piyush Goyal’s company at a premium of 1000 times of the book/face value. In percentage terms, the premium was nearly 100,000%. (See Appendix I for getting the details on Piramal’s past deeds, scandals, scams etc.).

In the context of such political collusion of Mr. Piramal, the following report by The Wire deserves special attention:

Sanjiv Bhatt (IPS) first brought The Wire’s report to the Netizens’ attention. Mr. Bhatt is now in jail in connection to his iconoclastic, factual stance regarding the involvement of the BJP in the 2002 Gujarat Pogrom. However, his and his family’s spines did not bend even after such terrible onslaught of the current ruling party of India. See below his tweet on the Goyal/BJP/NDA-Piramal nexus:

Here comes one more scandal: Piyush Goyal sells his firm to billionaire Ajay Piramal, at almost 1000 percent premium, four months after his becoming a Union Minister. Piramal group subsequently increased its investments in power and renewal energy…. https://t.co/eVhv0EKQ4L — Sanjiv Bhatt (IPS) (@sanjivbhatt) April 28, 2018

Mr. Rahul Gandhi, the torchbearer of the I.N.D.I.A. coalition to fight against the crony oligarchy, made several tweets on this issue after The Wire‘s report:

It’s no secret that CA Piyush Goyal, the BJP Treasurer, has pried open the doors of every major corporate house for PM Modi. How then will the PM act against this Minister, caught red handed, misusing his power for 48 Cr. of personal gain?#GoyalMustResign — Rahul Gandhi (@RahulGandhi) April 28, 2018

Piyush Goyal’s, 48 CR. #FlashNet Scam is about deceit, conflict of interest and greed. The evidence is on the table. Yet, the media will not touch the story. It is a tragedy for our country when journalists entrusted to stand for the truth, will not speak.#GoyalMustResign pic.twitter.com/WeUaSAT8wg — Rahul Gandhi (@RahulGandhi) May 1, 2018

Piramal couldn’t answer and didn’t even bother to reply to The Wire reporter’s pertinent questions. As The Wire wrote:

“…the Piramal Group made no attempt to clarify any point, or offer an answer to our questions.”

However, the Piramal Group finally threatened The Wire for making “defamatory statements” against it:

Op India treated The Wire‘s Report as a “false propaganda” and a “lie”:

The above statement was thoroughly supported by Nupur J. Sharma, the ex-national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP):

8. Piramal group had clarified and contemplated legal action against The Wire for their article devoid of logic. We had debunked their earlier article too. Next tweetshttps://t.co/KTHPXD1k3N — Nupur J Sharma (@UnSubtleDesi) August 20, 2018

She was suspended from the BJP after the 2022 Muhammad remarks controversy.

Godi Media such as Times Now likewise reported Piramal’s reaction to The Wire’s so-called “baseless” allegations:

Piramal Group releases official statement on the allegations made against the group by website 'The Wire', calling the allegations baseless and devoid of any merit and has threatened of taking defamatory action against the website pic.twitter.com/5w1238rBNF — TIMES NOW (@TimesNow) April 29, 2018

Till date, there has been no defamation suit against The Wire for making these so-called “false accusations” against Piramal’s so-called “reputation”!

Similar defamation was actually filed in the case of some of the agitating, aggravated DHFL victims. (See Appendix II for Detailed Information)

On 29.01.2019, the Cobrapost, in its findings on the DHFL scam, reported that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the ruling party of India, was involved in this scam through terror-funding/political donation/political charity. The nexus/collusion amidst DHFL, RKW Developers (Dheeraj Realty), the BJP and the Dawood Ibrahim-Iqbal Mirchi Gang was alleged through this report.

When concerned authority of the RTI gave some #DHFL_Victims a negative(ambiguous?) response, the victims had requested the President, BJP and the Sarsanghchalak of the RSS (a non-registered Hindu extremist group) to file a defamation case against the media houses, who had spread such “rumors”. against a party, which is not a public authority. .

However, till date no such defamation case has been filed either by the BJP or by the RSS against those newspapers.

Given below is the summary of the sequence of events in this case:

ROB PETER TO PAY PAUL! Mr. Piramal resold this company within few days, bearing huge loss as a result. Why did Mr. Piramal then buy such company from a BJP MP and Union Minister? The answer my friend, is not blowing in the wind: Mr. Piramal tried to satisfy the ruling party’s obnoxious greed.

How did Mr. Piramal and Mr. Piyush Goyal deny such grave allegation? Is this not a state of crony and monopoly capitalism⤡ in India? Because he is more equal than others⤡.

Colophon: Mr. Ravindra Mahidhar
